This calculator works out your real cost for every laser or UV job, including the machine itself, your blanks, your time and your overhead. Then it gives you a price at the margin you choose, at 1, 10, 25, 50 and 100 pieces. We built it in our own family-run engraving shop, where we quote tumblers, awards, coasters and patches every week.

Most engraving calculators skip machine wear and overhead, so shops end up underpricing. This one turns each machine into a true cost per run hour, then tracks quoted vs actual on every job so you can see whether your quotes hold up.

How it works

1. Check out. Your download link appears right after checkout and in your order confirmation email, so you can download instantly.
2. Open the .xlsx in Excel, or upload it to Google Drive and choose Open with > Google Sheets.
3. Enter your machines, blanks, labor rate and overhead once.
4. Price each job on the Job Calculator and send the Quote.
5. Log won jobs, add the actuals when they're done, and watch your dashboard fill in.

FAQ

Does it work with my laser brand?
Yes. It's brand-neutral. Enter any diode, fiber, CO2, galvo or UV printer with your own numbers.

Are the sample costs accurate for my shop?
They're realistic examples only. Enter your own supplier prices, power rate and run times.

How do I know my run time?
Use the estimate from your laser software, or time one piece. It's the biggest driver of your price.

Margin or markup?
It prices by margin (profit divided by price). The Quick-Start Guide explains the difference.
